It’s been over a year now, and the recruits of the first batch of women soldiers of the Indian Army, who have been undergoing training at the Corps of Military Police (CMP) in Bengaluru, are a transformed bunch. Their trainers are proud and their family struggles to recognise them. “The induction of women soldiers to the Army and CMP has been a significant step towards achieving gender parity and this is a historic decision by the Indian Army.
