Indian Army Deploys Its Elite Para Special Forces In Ladakh For Operational Roles, Amid China Standoff

Representative Image The Indian Army has deployed its elite para special forces troops in Ladakh for operational roles if needed amid the ongoing standoff between India and China at the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh, according to reports. The special forces units were moved to Ladakh from various parts of the country and are already carrying out exercises in the region. They can be effectively used against the Chinese if and when needed and have already been deployed in forward areas. They have also been briefed about the roles they might be required to undertake. Lieutenant General KJS Dhillon To Head Defence Intelligence Agency Under CDS General Bipin Rawat-Led Department Of Military Affairs

Lieutenant General KJS Dhillon (@ChinarcorpsIA/Twitter) Lieutenant General KJS Dhillon, who was the commander of the Srinagar-based 15 Corps till recently, has been appointed as the director general of the Defence Intelligence Agency (DIA), and Deputy Chief of Integrated Staff (Intelligence) under the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat in the Ministry of Defence’s Department of Military Affairs. The DIA, which was created in 2002, is responsible for providing and coordinating military intelligence for the Indian Armed forces. The agency was created after the recommendation from a Group of Ministers which looked into lapses leading to the Kargil intrusion in 1999. The DIA also forms part of the Multi Agency Centre, an umbrella of organisations which looks into infiltration of terrorists from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
