China is trying to ‘bully’ India against building road in Pangong area

According to sources, while a road from Finger 2 to Finger 4 is something that has been in the works for long, a fresh attempt was being made by India. “To travel from Finger 3 to Finger 4, the Indians have to do so by foot through a narrow track. Border brawl: China choppers were in air

The latest revelations come at a time there has been an escalation in tension in pockets of the disputed frontier. “The Indian Air Force is regularly carrying out sorties of its Sukhoi 30 fighter aircraft in the Ladakh sector amid the simmering tension with China in the region. During the face-off last week, two Chinese choppers had come close to the border but there was no air space violation. Indian Army confirms face-off with China in Sikkim

The army said “temporary and short duration face-offs” between border guarding troops do occur as boundaries are not resolved.(Photo: AP) The Indian Army on Sunday confirmed that a heated confrontation took place between Indian and Chinese soldiers in north Sikkim on Saturday, resulting in injuries to troops on both sides. Soldiers from the two countries also clashed in eastern Ladakh last week, a senior officer said, asking not to be named. The army statement came on a day Hindustan Times reported that scores of Indian and Chinese soldiers were involved in a tense face-off at Naku La in Sikkim and the scuffle left 11 soldiers injured. “Incident of face-off as referred to in the (HT) article did take place. Aggressive behaviour by the two sides resulted in minor injuries to troops,” the statement said.
