Navy inducts Predator drones on lease from US for Indian Ocean surveillance

The two US Predator drones are operating out of the Indian Navy's INS Rajali airbase and were inducted under a lease agreement with the American vendor in the third week of November. File photo of a US Predator drone. Indian Navy has inducted two American Predator drones on lease from the US to carry out surveillance in the Indian Ocean region. Capable of carrying out surveillance for more than 30 hours, the drones are operating out of Indian Navy's INS Rajali airbase. These drones have been inducted under a lease agreement with the American vendor. As part of the deal, the vendor has deployed a team to guide the personnel operating the Predator drones. In fact, the American Predator drones could also be made available to Indian forces deployed along the LAC in eastern Ladakh where India and China are engaged in a military standoff. India successfully test-fires Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile system off Odisha coast

India on Friday successfully test-fired the Quick Reaction Surface to Air Missile (QRSAM) air defence system. The air defence missile system was tested from the Balasore flight test range. The missile hit its target directly during the test. Representative Image The QRSAM, a compact weapon system, comprises two four-walled radars both of which encompass 360-degree coverage, namely, the Active Array Battery Surveillance Radar and the Active Array Battery Multifunction Radar, apart from the launcher. According to the DRDO, the missile system is designed to protect moving armoured columns from aerial attacks. The entire weapon system is configured on highly mobile platforms and is capable of providing air defence on the move. Under the newly introduced J&K Development Act (XIX of 1970) , it notified that “omit, being permanent resident of the State”. In a fresh notification, Section 30 of and Part VII of the State Land Acquisition Act , Samvat 1990 was substituted by the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 (30 of 2013) . Introducing the J&K Agrarian Reforms Act, the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Act, 1987 was also substituted by the Indian Forest Act, 1927 (16 of 1927). 301 youth from J&K, Ladakh inducted in Indian Army

The glittering parade was held at the Bana Singh Parade Ground of Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre. The attestation parade was reviewed by Lt Gen BS Raju, Chinar Corps Commander. This unique 'soldier' to boost Indian Army patrolling in the cold desert of Ladakh

Bactrian Camel The Indian Army has decided to include an animal working for centuries in these adverse environmental conditions to patrol and carry goods in the cold desert of Ladakh. In Leh-based DRDO's Institute of Defence Institute for High Altitude Research (DIHAR), local two hump camels, Bactrian Camels, are being prepared for the Army. DIHAR officials say that Bactrian Camel is working brilliantly in the environment of Ladakh. Bactrian camels have been joining caravans from China, Tibet, Mongolia to Central Asia for centuries, crossing cold deserts and ice. Bactrian camel has been showcased in many artifacts of Central Asia in the third century. Bactrian Camel Italian traveler and businessman Marco Polo traveled on the Silk Route several times from 1271 to 1295. Marco Polo introduced Europe to Bactrian Camel.
