Cabinet approves export of Akash missiles

Indian Army Acquires Made-In-India Bridging System To Ensure Speedy Mobility During Key Operations

The equipment will meet the important requirement of providing mobility to forces by speedy bridging of gaps during operations. The Indian Army has received three sets of 10-metre short span bridges developed and manufactured by the DRDO in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro Ltd (L&T), a defence official said on Wednesday. DRDO, Indian Navy conduct successful maiden trial of SAHAYAK-NG air-droppable container

The DRDO along with the Indian Navy has conducted a successful maiden trial of the SAHAYAK-NG air-droppable container from an IL-38SD aircraft off the coast of Goa, an official statement said on Wednesday. SAHAYAK-NG is India's first indigenously designed and developed air droppable container, said the Defence Ministry's statement. It is aided by GPS, can carry a payload of up to 50 kg and can be dropped from a heavy aircraft, the ministry said. Akash Singh, an Indian-origin entrepreneur based out of Silicon Valley, is all set to venture into nuclear fusion by early next year. Singh is working on ‘Project Sanlayan’, which is supported by a team of international investors. This was revealed at the Bihar Science Conference held early this month. DAYS after successfully testing the Quantum Key Distribution technology, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has achieved another milestone in quantum technology by successfully developing a Quantum Random Number Generator (QRNG), the Ministry of Defence said on Tuesday. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO)  The DRDO Young Scientist Laboratory for Quantum Technologies (DYSL-QT), a DRDO facility based in Mumbai, has developed a QRNG which has the ability to detect random quantum events and convert those into a stream of binary digits. The facility has developed a fiber-optic branch path based QRNG. Branch path-based QRNG relies on the principle that if a single photon falls on a balanced beam splitter, it will take either of the beam-splitter output paths randomly. Bringing the Central Armed Police Forces under the same scheme or a similar one is also under consideration,” a defence official said, adding the finer details and calculations for the scheme are being worked out, so it can be implemented by the middle of next year. India’s political leadership is keen on the scheme, given its future potential to generate large-scale employment, and is pushing to working out its modalities.
