ICGS C-453 Interceptor boat commissioned

The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICG) named as C-453 was commissioned into services in Chennai on February 19, 2021. This was the 17th interceptor boats out of the 18 which are being indigenously built by Larsen & Toubro Ltd. ICGS C-453 It is a 27.80-m-long interceptor boat. The boat has a displacement of 105 tonnes. It can attain a maximum speed of 45 knots (85 kmph). It is capable to undertake the multifarious tasks such as surveillance, close-coast patrol, interdiction, and search & rescue. It will also provide assistance to the boats and craft in case of distress at sea. It comprises of the advanced navigation and communication equipment. Indian Navy, Coast Guard get five upgraded Mk III helicopters for maritime security

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Friday delivered the three helicopters to the Indian Navy and two to the Coast Guard during the ongoing Aero India show in Bengaluru.  Indian Navy and Coast Guard received upgraded advanced light helicopters (ALH) -- the Mark III versions -- meant for costal security on Friday. Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) delivered the three helicopters to the Navy and two to the Coast Guard during the ongoing Aero India show in Bengaluru. Sea Vigil coastal security exercise concludes

The coastal defence exercise Sea Vigil 2021, conducted by the Indian Navy  In close coordination with Indian Coast Guard, State Governments and Union Territories concluded on Wednesday. It was the second edition of the largest coastal defence exercise in the country that was conducted pan India in all coastal states and UTs of India.  The two-day exercise was conducted in close coordination with the Coast Guard and all other maritime stakeholders with the aim of validating the efficacy of the nation's coastal defence systems against threats arising from the sea. Indian Navy to hold 2-day pan-India coastal defence exercise ‘Sea Vigil-21’ today

Dubbed India's largest coastal defence exercise, it will involve all the 13 coastal states and Union Territories along with other maritime stakeholders. The Indian Navy will hold a pan-India coastal defence exercise starting Tuesday. The two-day mega defence exercise will kick start on Tuesday and cover the country's 7,516 km coastline and exclusive economic zone, as per officials. "The second edition of the biennial pan-India coastal defence exercise ‘Sea Vigil-21’ will be conducted on January 12-13," the Navy said. Success for Make in India! Hindustan Shipyard boasts a healthy order book, says the outgoing CMD

Hindustan Shipyard Ltd, which has been focusing on `Make in India’ a big success has undergone a significant financial turnaround and in the last four financial years has posted profits. These profits came after a gap of almost four decades. Talking about the order book of the yard, the outgoing CMD of the Shipyard, RAdm LV Sarat Babu, in a conversation with Financial Express Online said “The order book is good. The yard is resently building for the Indian Navy two Diving support vessels costing about Rs 2500 crores, as well as four 50 tonne bollard pull tugs costing about Rs 250 crores.” The yard is also working on ships and vessels for the Indian Coast Guard, DCI, the Fisheries department and for other private companies.
