Indian & Sri-Lankan Navy to hold 3-day military Exercise "SLINEX 2020" to show growing strategic interests

Indian Navy has participated in a number of joint maritime exercises in last few weeks, including a 3-day drill "JIMEX 2020" with Japanese Navy in September & one with US Navy in July called "PASSEX 2020" . Ex - SLINEX 2020 between the navies of India and Sri Lanka begins today. The navies of India and Sri Lanka will conduct a three-day military exercise off Trincomalee beginning Monday, in a show of growing congruence in their strategic interests and operational convergence in the region, officials said. The eighth edition of the annual SLINEX exercise will feature a series of complex drills including surface and anti-air weapon firings and cross deck flying operations with an aim to further fine-tune the “high degree” of inter-operability between the two navies , they said. India, Japan naval exercise JIMEX-2020 begins in Arabian Sea

Indian Navy and Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) ships conducted operations in close formation at JIMEX-2020, the 4th edition of India-Japan Maritime bilateral exercise. It is being held in the North Arabian Sea from September 26 to 28. The last edition of JIMEX was conducted in October 2018 off Visakhapatnam, India. Naval cooperation between India and Japan has increased in scope and complexity over the years.
