First unit of indigenously-built ALH Mk III aircraft commissioned into Indian Navy

The first unit of the indigenously built ALH Mk III aircraft was commissioned into the Indian Navy on Monday. Indian Naval Air Squadron (INAS) 323, the first unit of the indigenously-built ALH Mk III aircraft, was commissioned into the Indian Navy in the presence of Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik and Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar, the flag officer commanding-in-chief of Western Naval Command, on Monday. Addressing the gathering, Shripad Naik said, "The commissioning of INAS 323 marked yet another milestone in the efforts towards enhancing maritime security and safeguarding maritime interests of the nation, as also embodying the spirit of Atma Nirbhar Bharat." Aatmanirbhar aviation boost at Aero India

The 13th edition of Aero India, the defence ministry’s biannual air show, will see heightened government pitch for indigenous aircraft designs. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will formally sign India’s largest defence orders for Indian industry, a Rs 48,000 crore contract for 83 LCA Tejas Mark 1 aircraft on February 3. The contract--73 combat jets in the Mark 1A configuration and 10 Mark 1 trainers--will be signed on the inaugural day of the three-day Aero India 2021 air show beginning in Bengaluru on February 3. This contract, the single-largest order for an indigenously produced defence platform after the indigenous nuclear submarine project, was cleared by the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) on January 13. Bharat Electronics Limited Signs Contract With Indian Navy To Supply Laser Dazzlers

The Defence Ministry in a statement said that this weapon has been indigenously designed and developed for the first time, and it also "dazzles and distracts aircraft/UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles)". The Bharat Electronics Limited signed a contract with the Indian Navy on Thursday to supply 20 laser dazzlers, a non-lethal weapon for warning and stopping suspicious vehicles, boats and aircraft. The Defence Ministry in a statement said that this weapon has been indigenously designed and developed for the first time, and it also "dazzles and distracts aircraft/UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles)". It stated that the Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) had earlier in December won the contract to supply the laser dazzlers to the Indian Navy. Aircraft Carrier Viraat On Final Voyage To Gujarat, Will Be Dismantled

Aircraft carrier INS Viraat had served the Indian Navy for 30 years before being decommissioned. It had served in the UK's Royal Navy as HMS Hermes and named INS Viraat after being inducted in the Indian Navy. (Representative image) Decommissioned aircraft carrier INS Viraat today set sail for the last time, on way to Alang in Gujarat, where it will be broken down and sold as scrap. For Navy veterans who watched the huge vessel being towed by tug boats, there was a lump in the throat as they bade it an emotional farewell from the Gateway of India. Former navy ship Viraat began its final journey from the Naval dockyard where it was berthed after being decommissioned in March 2017. A Navy helicopter circling overhead provided a majestic backdrop to Viraat's last voyage from its home base for over three decades. French defence minister to visit India for Rafale induction ceremony

( Representative image French defence minister Florence Parly will embark on an official visit to India on September 10, where she will attend the induction ceremony of the first batch of the Rafale fighter aircraft by the Indian Air Force at Air Force Station (AFS) Ambala. This will mark Parly's third official visit to India since 2017 and one of her first official trips since the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, according to a statement by the French Embassy in New Delhi. "On this occasion, Minister Parly will strengthen France's forward-looking defence cooperation with India, its foremost Asian strategic partner," the statement said.During her visit the French Minister will meet her counterpart Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. Indian Army paratrooper (Livefist) Indian Army's brave paratroopers can be seen directly airdropping themselves into Ladakh's Stakna in a new video released by Livefist Defence.
