IDN TAKE: More Ardiden Engines on New Indian Helicopter.

 

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) is powered by the Ardiden 1H1 engine from Turbomeca. The Ardiden 1H1 will also power the new HAL - designed Light Utility Helicopter a three ton single engine chopper under development, with the Ardinen 1U engine.
Featuring state-of-the-art technologies, the Ardiden 1 family develops 1,400 shp. The Ardiden 1H1 variant was certified in 2009 and more than 250 units have already been produced, under the 'Shakti' designation, by HAL.
First bench testing of the Ardiden 1U, the single-engine variant took place in December 2014 and first models were delivered to HAL by the end of 2014. The participation in the LCH & LUH program builds the track-record established since 2003, of cooperation on the Shakti project.

Indian Army looking for new armoured vehicles for Ladakh, Tata among contenders

Humvee and American Stryker Infantry Combat Vehicle are the two others who are also being considered by the Indian Army to deliver such vehicles. ‘Disengagement an intricate process, needs constant verification’: Army
