India successfully test fired the long range surface-to-air missile


On 20th September, India successfully test fired the long range surface-to-air nuclear - capable ballistic missile, jointly developed with Israel - 'Barak-8'.

"Congratulations DRDO on the successful test-firing of Indo-Israeli surface-to-air missile 'Barak-8' from Odisha today (Tuesday)", President Pranab Mukherjee said on Twitter.

"Barak-8" is an Indian - Israeli Surface - to - Air Missile (SAM), designed to defend against any type of airborne threat including aircraft, helicopters, anti ship missiles, and UAVs as well as cruise missile and combat jets.
