Indian Air Force successfully test fires long range air-to-air MICA Missile

The Indian Air Force's recently acquired long range air-to-air MICA missile has successfully fired from Mirage-2000 upgrade combat aircraft.

According to a Defence Ministry release release, the missile achieved a direct hit on a target which was much smaller than an actual aircraft and flying at low altitude.

The government statement claims that IAF has become one of the few Air Forces in the world with the capability of such long range BVR air-to-air missile.

MICA Missile: It is a short/medium range air-to-air and surface-to-air missile, manufactured ny MBDA missile systems.

This is the second achievement in a month. Few Days before India successfully test fired 'Barak-8' (surface-to-air missile).
